Founder
Qualifications and Experience
Amari (she/her) is a multi-faceted professional specializing in sex education, social media management, and administrative support. With a BA (Hons) in Sociology (specializing in topics like gender, sexuality, and violence), Amari has extensive credentials, including:
- Level 4 Teaching Relationship and Sex Education Qualification
- Level 7 PGCE in Primary Teaching and Learning
- Level 3 Safeguarding Lead & GDPR/Data Protection Qualifications
- Training to become a Clinical Sexologist and Certified Sex Coach
- Completion of a Sextech Entrepreneurship Program and a 7-week Psychology of Fetish & Kink course
Amari brings over 8 years of experience in sexual wellness and women’s rights, 8 years in childcare and education, and 5 years in social media and administrative work.

Nina (she/her)
Social Media & Admin Assistant
Qualifications and Experience
With an MSc in Reproductive Science and Women’s Health from University College London and a BSc in Biomedical Sciences, Nina has worked on a variety of impactful projects such as cultivating her own embryonic stem cells, conducting research on egg cell and sperm cell donation in Ghana and surrogacy in India. Her experience stretches across women's health, reproductive health and sexual health. She has conducted research for app development projects focused on IVF support and wellbeing in the workplace during IVF. As well as crafting compelling copytext for sex toy brands, from product descriptions to website content, and creating engaging, sex-positive guides and courses.
Nina is passionate about breaking taboos and championing women’s health and sexual health. Nina excels at bringing sexual health conversations to life through creative social media graphics and posts that are both fun and educational. She has managed social media for sexual health influencers and developed email marketing campaigns, combining her creative and strategic skills to engage audiences effectively. Her expertise also includes virtual assistant skills such as appointment scheduling, minutes writing and ensuring smooth operations behind the scenes.
She is particularly passionate about empowering young people with the knowledge to feel confident, safe, and informed about their sexual health—not just the essentials like STIs and contraception, but also embracing consensual and enjoyable sex. Nina is committed to normalising these vital conversations and making them accessible to all.
When she’s not working, Nina channels her creativity into her vegan skincare brand, UsGirls Cosmetics—because everyone deserves a little self-care that’s good for the planet. -
Ellie (she/her)

Qualifications and Experience
Ellie attended the Uni of Liverpool, where she achieved a 2:1 in Geography (BSc). After graduating, she joined The Lowdown team as an unpaid intern, where she created & edited video content, as well as published articles, before becoming fully incorporated in their team as their Social Media Lead.
The Lowdown is a research hub for women’s health and sexual health, where you can share your experiences on areas such as contraception and menopause.
She has worked with The Lowdown for 1 year now and has also done similar work for other clients, such as health & sexuality educator and author Justine Ang Fonte.
Particular interests
Whilst having studied Geography at Uni, Ellie has found a passion for women’s health. Her specific interests include; funding - or lack thereof - for women’s health, addressing health misinformation spread via social media and abortion rights across the globe.
